5 Gentle Reminders That You Are God’s Beloved

Do you love yourself? Self-love is easier said than done. When I say self-love, I am not talking about the self-pampering routines to make yourself feel good and look good.  Do you like what you see when you look in the mirror? In today’s generation, falling into the trap of distorted human standards is likely with the influence of social media in our lives. If we are not careful, it could create the illusion that we are not enough. During my prayer time, God reminded me of my true worth. He had shown me my value, both in body and soul. He sees every fiber of my being, and He knows my tendencies. Yet He sees beyond all these. In God’s eyes, we are His beloved. And so, I have written in this article 5 Gentle Reminders that we are God’s beloved. 1. You are God’s Masterpiece Only God can truly understand and appreciate the depths of your being when no one else can. When He looks at you, He sees a masterpiece, a beloved. In your complexity, He loves you…no ifs, no buts. Contrary to the world’s limitation to love and accept, there is a God who always chooses you and accepts you just the way you are. 2. God loves you just as you are “Lord, would it still be alright to serve you when I’m like this?” There are instances in life when we are faced with our own reflection. We see the different facets of ourselves, even the ugliest part of it. But one day, during the homily, I felt God speak to me. “You may have seen the ugliest part of yourself and thought you were unworthy. But God gave you another year to enjoy His goodness. Whether you like it or not, God loves you so much. Convince yourself that you are loved by God. Because it is when you are secured by God’s love that you will have a lot of reasons to be joyful and charitable.” Perfection isn’t God’s pre-requisite. What the Lord desires is to love us just as we are. Let God love you. 3. Use your gifts. Focus on your strengths. You are unique and original. You have no duplicates. And that’s what makes you special. Discover your gifts. Use them. God created you for a specific purpose. 4. You can always run to Jesus. When the world seems distant, when no one else can understand, know that you can always run to Jesus, your home and constant. 5. There is nothing to prove. When you fail, God is not surprised at all. Why? Because He created you and knows every fiber of your being. We may see our own flaws and imperfections, but God sees a masterpiece with His beautiful plans in mind. In His eyes, He sees a work in progress, and so God is patient with us. If you feel unappreciated and disliked, remember that you are loved and there is nothing to prove. God’s love has no boundaries. It is all around us. It’s up to you if you open your heart to receive it. It’s up to you if you allow God’s love to embrace you. Regardless of who you are, God loves you. Mahal ka ni Lord! In Christ, Kiana Do want to become a highly-paid freelancer? Join the Power Freelancer Program for only Php 249! Enroll now!
