Mama, I thank God every time I think of you
There will always be a special connection between a mother and her child. It is something that one could hardly explain. We sometimes get hurt by their words and often misunderstood them by the way they show their love. But they will always have a special place in our hearts.
Annoying she seems to be at times. But she is the one who’s hurt the most when her child is in pain. She believes in her child when no one else does. She understands when no one else can. Her words give power and comfort. And it’s amazing how a mother’s love can influence the destiny of her child.
She often hides what she truly feels. But deep in her heart are prayers and dreams for her family. A heart so tough, a heart who greatly loves. Isn’t she lovely?—a beautiful soul and a wonder woman she will always be.
Expressing my gratitude to all the mothers in the world. You are incredible. Thank you for your selfless love. You may not know it but the world is a better place because of you.
Life has become more beautiful because of you
Like a ray of sunshine, your love resonates in this heart of mine
A love so tender, a love so true
Mama, I thank God every time I think of you
There were times I thought you care not about my hurts
And questioned your love when you did not say a single word
Later did I know that my pain is hurting you so
In silence, you wept somewhere only you know
Your love is often misunderstood
Like a foreign language spoken for good
It took a long while for me to realize
Finally, now I’m seeing it in a new light
Motherly love is indeed exceptional
The misery you’d bear has nothing to compare
You’ll give it all, you’d risk it all
Mama, thank you for loving us with your heart and soul
With all my heart, I dedicate this poem for you
I love you more after everything we’ve been through
When things get tough, remember what I told you
Mama, you are loved and I thank God for I have you
Love,
Kiana Leigh
